A group of friends from an urban culture follow a river to the Arctic Ocean, to perpetual light and the spectacle of arctic life. In this land most in danger of being affected by global warming, they find the meaning of wilderness, and the price being paid for our industrialized lives. Here they discover how awareness, not crisis, must define our relationship with the rest of the natural world. And how the greatest journey is where the land takes us in ourselves.

About the Producer:
Filmmaker marten berkman was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1961, studied visual arts and geography, and has explored landscapes around the world with his cameras. The north is his home and inspiration, where he lives and plays with his family upstream from Whitehorse, Yukon.
